In this 2 day workshop we're going to take you back to where it all began. BB King, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray, Jimmy Paige, Jack White. They all walk the Rock path. The Blues however, were their first steps!
Blues music is arguably one of the most important genres of music and solely responsible for the later birth of Pop, Soul and Rock N' Roll. Every player should have a basic sense of the Blues language and this camp helps you familiarize with the core components that make up the Blues form. It's also the perfect environment to explore improvisation. In this workshop we'll start at the crossroads of Highways 49 and 61 in Clarksdale, Mississippi where legend has it, Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his guitar. Be ready for songs from Albert King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thorton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more!!
This is a great workshop for students 10-17 years of age who have at least 10-12 months of previous instruction.
The health and safety of our students is our top priority.
