ENROLLMENT FOR NEXT SEASON’S PERFORMANCE GROUPS WILL BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 5 @ 12PM.
AC/DC - Mondays 5pm
Australian band AC/DC have written some of the most familiar anthems and unforgettable riffs in Rock & Roll history. This is a killer show for School of Rock students at any stage in their musical journey with fun parts to play for all the rock instruments that range from beginner to advanced skill levels. Whether you’re fresh out of Rock 101 and ready for your first Performance experience, or have a few shows under your belt and want to expand your fills, grooves, solos, or rock vocals, this show is a great choice!
Warped Tour - Wednesdays 5pm
The Vans Warped Tour is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2019! In the years since its founding, this traveling hard rock tour has put on performances by artists like Avenged Sevenfold, Blink 192, Deftones, Incubus, and Paramore among many others. We’ll choose songs that speak to our hard rockers’ taste, as well as finding the right level of challenge to propel the growth of students from beginner to advanced levels of skill and experience.
Red Hot Chili Peppers vs No Doubt - Thursdays 5pm
These bands became household names in the 90s, infusing alternative rock with elements of funk, ska, punk, pop and hard rock. Students in this show will be able to work on groove, build their chops, and learn about the sources of inspiration that inform these bands’ numerous hits.
Funk And R&B - Fridays 5pm
A good musician in any genre of music needs to be able to lock down a groove, and nothing puts the groove in the spotlight like Funk and R&B. Artists like James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, Sly & The Family Stone, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Prince, and Jamiroquai are a few of the possible sources for the songs in this show. Students will hone their knowledge and skills in ensemble playing, harmony, and stage presence while playing some of the most fun music out there!
Rolling Stones - Saturdays 11am
The Rolling Stones have written and recorded timeless mega-hits and earned a reputation as one of the greatest live bands of all time. Avid students of American Blues and early Rock Music, the Stones gave the Beatles a run for their money during the British Invasion in the mid-60s and have held their place at the apex of rock stardom and musical success through today. This show will have killer rhythm, leads, keys, basslines, grooves and vocal parts on songs ranging from high energy, full-on rock like “Satisfaction” and “Start Me Up” to phones-in-the-air ballads like “Wild Horses” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”
