All of School of Rock Sutherland’s music teachers are experienced musicians devoted to helping students attain musical proficiency. Our instructors guide students one-on-one to personalize learning, inspire confidence and build social skills.
Josh Lofberg Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Josh been a full time Music Teacher for the past seven years and is now bringing all of his previous experience to School of Rock Sutherland! Josh is currently the Music Director for seasonal shows as well as a one-on-one guitar and bass teacher. Josh has been playing guitar and bass for 15 years and playing professionally for about 10 years. Josh studied Music at university and has a full knowledge of music theory. Josh has a deep passion for all things classic rock and his knowledge is second to none!
Stef Billimoria Drum Teacher
Stef Billimoria is a professional drummer from Sydney, Australia and is the drummer for the Australian hard rock band, Lillye. He is currently in the studio preparing for an upcoming release with Lillye. With a progressive interest in drumming and drum tuition, Stef continues to study and teach alongside some of the world's leading drum teachers. He has attended many drum clinics and, in doing so, has met and learnt from some of the world's leading drummers. He is a drum teacher exclusively at School of Rock Sutherland. Armed with a solid reputation, coupled with a strong work ethic, Stef has become a well-known and in-demand live and studio drummer nationwide.
Jasmin Nunez Vocal Instructor
Jasmin is an exceptional vocalist and teacher who has been with School of Rock Sutherland since 2017, firstly as a student and now as a respected vocal instructor and piano teacher, as well as assistant show director. Jasmin’s love for music and singing started when she was just six years old singing opera, and now throughout the years she has increased her repertoire to include R&B, rock, blues and jazz. Jasmin’s sound has and will continuously evolve as she is currently studying for a Bachelor of Music at the Australian Institute of Music. Jasmin’s love for singing and performing shows comes out through her passion for teaching.
Chris Smithson Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Born and raised in the Sutherland Shire, Chris’s love for music started with bass guitar at the young age of six, but he soon progressed to other instruments like drums, piano, guitar and vocals. Chris has played and toured extensively around not only Australia, but Europe as well. He's notched up several tours over his 10 years of playing with bands that include The Kava Kings, which he plays in with his brother Tom! Caravana Sun, Yeti Calzone, Lola Scott and Jackson Carroll. Chris draws his musical influences from musicians such as David Bowie, Tame Impala, Pond, The Gorillaz, Foals and Pond. He is a guitar teacher and bass guitar teacher at School of Rock Sutherland.
Kelly Miller Drum Teacher
Kelly Miller is a young drummer and educator and has recently graduated from the Australian Institute of Music, Sydney. After playing the drums and percussion for 12 years, Kelly has built up experience in playing at various Sydney venues whilst also playing gigs outside of Sydney such as in Melbourne and the Gold Coast. Kelly plays all genres of music but specializes in rock, funk and jazz. Kelly is involved in various bands, including the wedding band Birthday Cake, Gabbi Bolt's Band From Bathurst and Holiday Sidewinder, who is currently on tour around the US and Australia. Some of these bands formed out of The Australian Institute of Music and have been gigging together for the past few years. Whilst being involved in these bands, Kelly also helps Australian Institute of Music students with their projects and session work. She is a drum teacher at School of Rock Sutherland.
Matt Ellis Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher
Matt Ellis is a professional musician, originally from Perth, with over 15 years of teaching experience. He has 25+ years of live performance and touring experience both nationally and internationally, with bands and duos of many different styles, including rock, metal, country, avant garde, experimental and acoustic. Matt is the guitarist in Sydney-based rock band Lillye, who were invited to entertain Australian and US troops in the Middle East in 2015 and released their debut album "Evolve" in 2018, which received rave reviews from media outlets across the globe. He is a multi award-winning songwriter and session guitarist with a high level of music theory and a guitar technique background. Matt has a passion for helping students find their own unique voice on their chosen instrument. He is a guitar teacher, bass guitar teacher and show director at School of Rock Sutherland.
Marc Lenczycki Piano Teacher
Marc Lenczycki has been playing piano for over 30 years. From the early age of three, Marc displayed a unique talent for playing piano by ear. With his mother quickly encouraging his talents, she enrolled him in classical music lessons. At a later age, Marc was accepted in to the Conservatorium of Music for his high school education, where he further pursued his passion for classical music. With in-depth knowledge and interests in many different music genres, Marc has taught our students of all skill levels. His patient and nurturing teaching style has made him a highly sought after teacher. He is a piano teacher at School of Rock Sutherland.
