Age 12-18 (Intermediate/Advanced-2 yrs experience) Campers will analyze 60 years of great compositions, learn how to write songs and leave with a demo of their original music.
In this exciting one-week summer camp, kids will come together as a band to learn how to write a handful of songs, and then get the experience of recording those songs in our St. Pete School of Rock Studio! Students will explore what it means to craft a song from conception to recording by analyzing the work of great some of the greatest modern songwriters. Students will learn how to write lyrics, chord progressions, and other tricks of the trade. They will work both independently and in groups under the direction of our professional musician instructors who write original music as part of their profession. Songs written during the week will be recorded in School of Rock St. Pete's very own recording studio where students will witness recording and mixing techniques. At the end of the week, students will walk away with a demo project recording featuring the music written during the week-long camp session to show off to all their friends and family!
