Age 6-7 (Beginner) - Campers will learn about different rock instruments and begin their introduction to music through interactive games, crafts and instrument play.
camp description: 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 A.m.
This is where the School of Rock Camp adventure begins! Rookies students age 6-7 will be placed into groups to learn about some of the most important songs in rock music history. They will learn the basics on keyboards, bass guitars, electric guitars, hand percussion and vocals. We use modified, child-size instruments and incorporate games, listening techniques and hand percussion. In addition, students will also learn mic technique and how to use their voice to match pitch and develop tone. Working with professional musicians, students will explore rock instruments, learn ear training, rhythm, dynamics, song structure, teamwork, and rock history. Our Rookies Camp promotes experiential learning and does not require students to commit to a single instrument. Simply come ready to Rock!
