Alicia BrittonSinging Teacher
Alicia Britton is a proud member of School of Rock, teaching keys and vocals for all ages. She makes lessons a fun, individualized experience for students. She encourages songs chosen by the student, composition at any age/ability level and is an advocate for proper technique and reading music. Vocal students will have physically active lessons and show improvement within the first half-hour!
A lifetime performer, Alicia’s professional career began at Westminster College of the Arts in Princeton, NJ where she received a B.A. in music for voice. From 2010-2015 she lived in Philadelphia, PA working as a freelance performance artist while teaching for Meridee Winters School of Music. Returning to her home state in mid-2015, she has performed with theatre companies throughout the twin cities as a singer, actor and music director (Youth Performance Company and 2016/2017 music director for Project Success). She is incredibly fortunate that her passion for teaching is as formidable as her love for performance.
Eric KilpelaMusic Director
Eric is a multi-instrumentalist that aims to make his students the best they can be. Although Eric grew up listening to and playing rock n’ roll music he also studied classical and jazz guitar at the University of St. Thomas. Eric is a lover of music in all its beautiful forms. He loves playing and teaching everything from rock, jazz, funk, metal, classical, punk, alternative, folk, hip-hop, musicals, blues and beyond. Eric plays guitar, bass, drums, piano and mandolin, and likes to play in a variety of different genres. Eric’s goal as a teacher is to make sure his students learn practical and useful information that they can actually use. He loves watching all his students grow and wants for them to fully realize their full potential as musicians.
Dan KnoflicekGuitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Piano Teacher
Dan Knoflicek teaches guitar and bass at School of Rock and is currently writing music for a yet-to-be-released video. A 2012 graduate of McNally Smith College of Music, Dan earned an AAS in Bass Performance and a BA in Music Composition. In addition to his skills on bass and guitar, Dan calls on his 20 years of music experience to compose multi-instrumental music. One of Dan's musical highlights was arranging and performing a Dr. Dre medley in the recently dissolved funk band Soulacious. Not limiting himself to one genre, Dan has spent the past 10 years performing rock, funk, folk, fusion, gypsy jazz, orchestral music and two musicals ("Sweeney Todd" and "The Lebowitz Sisters"). Originally from Sioux Falls South Dakota, Dan now calls the Twin Cities home.
