Renee Sigal Singing Teacher
Renee Sigal or more commonly known as “Nay Nay,” found her performing arts passion early on in life. The California native’s musical zeal was sparked by her mother’s position at the famous Irvine Meadows. At just five years old Renee was provided with the exciting opportunity to perform song and dance on the big stage and at that special moment she knew her life aspiration was to become a performer.
At three years of age Renee joined performance groups and began private voice lessons. By the age of eight, she performed countless solos in elementary school performances, excelled in honors choir and was an active member of the Advanced Ladies and Chamber Choir at Aliso Niguel High School under the direction of the talented Tom Flannery. In Renee’s early high school days, she worked behind the scenes managing street teams for bands such as Maroon 5, Phantom Planet and local labels such as Drive-Thru Records, Fearless Records, and various local talents. Through her extensive networking she was able to find a niche by using her talent to provide voice lessons to bands. Post-high school, Renee graduated from the Musician’s Institute; Vocal Institute of Technology (VIT). During her time at the Musician’s Institute she continued to share her love for music while working with bands such as Underminded (currently members of Sleeping with Sirens), As Night Falls (currently members of Bonnie McKee), Ambriel and Wiggum. She also led the backup vocals for the Hard Rock live performance workshop.
Today, Renee is the on-call vocal coach for NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood; a world class recording and production facility that has produced some of the world’s best Rock artists such as Incubus, Linkin Park, No Doubt, P.O.D., and many more. In this role she has worked with two Monster Uproar Festival winning bands; Mindset Evolution and The Chuck Shaffer Picture Show along with Anchored and Girl on Fire. Her most recent work was with Eyes Set to Kill prior to their album recording and she prepared the Butcher Babies for their tour, opening for Marilyn Manson and Mayhem Festival.
Not only does Renee work behind the scenes with the music industry, but she is also active in creating her own music. Her credits include singing “Call Me Maybe,” for an iPhone app commercial, vocals on a few EDM tracks and her repertoire includes: rock, pop, hardcore, and much more. She has also worked as a singing telegram for birthdays and various life celebrations. Renee is currently working on her own release, along with a project named Renee and the Dreamboats.
As a singer, songwriter and vocal coach, Renee is able to detect and highlight the gifts within each student and provide a positive environment to discover and develop their unique talents. She works with her students on tone, texture, dynamics and connecting with the story the song tells. Every student has a personal connection with music and she takes pride in providing the perfect environment to explore each students individual musical aspirations. She believes that vocal performance is more than just technique and she is passionate about creating a vocal adventure or story and most of all having fun.
