About School of Rock San Antonio

Welcome to School of Rock San Antonio—a haven for aspiring musicians who love rock n’ roll. We believe live performance is the most fun and effective way to teach an instrument, which is why we get kids playing on stage as quickly as possible. Our classes are tailored to all age groups and levels of proficiency, and instructors are passionate about creating a legacy of music by helping students succeed in music and beyond.

We also believe that music is more than a solo act. That’s why School of Rock San Antonio teaches kids to play alone and as part of a team. This approach promotes accountability, speeds up the learning process, and fosters an inclusive community of rockers in San Antonio. Students are not only learning an instrument—they’re making friends, building confidence, and becoming better people.

Michele and Andrew took over School of Rock San Antonio when they saw what an awesome opportunity it gave kids, and the huge difference it made for their own son who had been attending the School of Rock. They love the way it builds confidence and creates a safe, fun environment for learning styles of music that aren't offered at the schools. It's for kids that love music and want to experience what it's like to play in a band on a big stage. Michele and Andrew are hands-on owners and are at the School most days ensuring that the kids are happy, learning music, and getting the experience of a lifetime.

Michele's background includes owning her own photography business, where she worked with local bands taking pictures during events and games as well as for individuals. She also specialized in High School Senior photography. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Computer Science. She worked as a retail manager for 10 years, then worked as a substitute teacher at several local San Antonio schools and volunteered many hours in PTA. Her interest in music has always been rock-n-roll.

Andrew's life was retail management. When he saw the opportunity to own/manage a place that made a difference for kids, he decided it was time for a change. It's been a positive move with no looking back. His years of retail management come in handy when working with scheduling, setting up gigs and concerts, hiring instructors, marketing, and running the school every day.

Michele and Andrew both pour their souls into the school hoping to make a difference for kids, especially those that can't find their place in the local school system.
