When Jimmi Kane started bouncing on his rocking horse right on beat to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It," his dad thought quickly and put some drum sticks in the 4 year-old’s hands. Without any formal training, Jimmi quickly taught himself to master the drums. By the time he was 15 years old, he was a regular on stage in and around his hometown of Saugerties, NY.

Jimmi's career as a professional drummer has allowed him to record and tour the country with artists such as Krista (RCA/Jive Records), Thieves and Villains (Victory Records) and The Morning Of (Tragic Hero Records). He currently leads the East Coast Cast of the award-winning, punk rock drum troupe, Street Drum Corps, where you can catch him banging on oil drums and pounding on kegs in the electrifying spectacular, "Blood Drums," every weekend in September and October at Dorney Park's "The Haunt" and PNC Bank Arts Center's brand new Halloween event, "Scared in New Jersey."

Suzanne's love of music began as soon as she was old enough to speak. After listening to the Original Broadway Cast Recording of "Annie" on repeat for what seemed like years, her mother decided it was time to to take the 5 year-old to a vocal instructor. Suzanne's show tune repertoire soon evolved beyond "Tomorrow" and, eventually, she began singing and acting in local stage productions, such as "Gypsy" and "The Music Man." Then, one fateful seventh grade day, Suzanne discovered KISS. At that moment, rock and roll seeped into her bloodstream and there was no turning back.

After graduating from Syracuse University, Suzanne worked in all facets of the music industry, from radio to publicity to concert booking, before taking time off to start a family. Now, ready to get back into the world of rock and roll, Suzanne, along with her husband, Jimmi, jumped into a business that will give them the satisfaction of teaching new generations to love and appreciate music.

  • “I love the confidence and self esteem building that happens at School of Rock! This program has been pivotal in helping my daughter grow. The owners, instructors and even the other parents are extremely supportive and encouraging. And the kids that are drawn to SOR are exceptional. The older kids are a wonderful influence on the younger ones. And we love that our daughter is being exposed to music, that she may not have been otherwise.”

  • “School of Rock reminds us that Rock is not dead and that good music is timeless. It teaches kids to appreciate music as an art while forming lasting friendships. Like in sports, performing in a band takes hard work, dedication, teamwork and pride. School of Rock provides our son with a safe and friendly environment to learn how to perform, make great friends and honor great music.”

  • “SOR Randolph has allowed my children to become who they were meant to be. They have found a place where they can be themselves and be with other kids who also share their love of music. It is truly their happy place and our home away from home.”

  • “Years ago, our young, shy son wanted nothing to do with taking guitar lessons - even though we knew he enjoyed playing the guitar & had even learned some songs on his own from playing the video game Rocksmith. One day we talked him into a tour of School of Rock in Randolph. The instructors were so relatable that they made my son feel comfortable right away. Now at 16, he's been at SoR for years and we couldn't be happier for him! He's developed into an awesome musician and that shy little kid is now a Rockin' performer on stage! He's made countless friends - some of his best! Owners Jimmi & Suzanne Kane have provided him a place that has become his home away from home. The Owners, Instructors, and kids at School of Rock Randolph are like a second family! We are truly blessed that our son found a place where he can learn, perform, express himself through music & have such a great time doing it!”

  • “My children have been students at The School of Rock Randolph for two years, one playing guitar and one playing drums. I can’t say enough good things about the instruction they have received and the programs available to them. The family atmosphere you feel when you walk in the door is so inviting, and my children feel so comfortable there. They learned so much at the camp that they were able to play 9 songs perfectly after only learning them for a week! Tom, Rod, and Bruce have taught them so much, its amazing. Suzanne and Jimmi have made it such a fun atmosphere, they can’t wait to go every week. We would never take our children anywhere else!”

  • “I take guitar lessons at the school of rock in Randolph NJ for 2 years. I have changed between teachers a little bit, but my current one, Rod is my favorite. He taught me the most out of the year and ½ that he was my teacher. I did the Green Day summer camp this summer. Bruce also taught me a lot in that camp and I am excited to do the modern metal performance program starting on February 14, 2018. I thank all of the teachers for getting me to where I am today. They pushed me to get better. I love playing guitar!”

  • “I have been taking drum lessons at School of Rock Randolph for 2 years. I have so much fun at all the camps, and lessons that I go to every week. My teacher Tom has taught me so much. I am so exited to do the performance program and learn so much from other kids who have more experience than me. I love the School of Rock because they teach me so many things that are so much fun every day I come there! Everyone that works at School of Rock are so nice and friendly. I love the School of Rock and I would never go anywhere else!”
