In her final year of study, she was selected to fill the position of Assistant Conductor with the University of Maine Singers, the schools premier touring audition vocal ensemble. In this role, she accompanied the group through their annual tour of New England conducting workshops with local schoolchildren and generating interest in collegiate-level music education and performance. Additionally, she had the privilege of conducting the group at a variety of European destinations during a tour of Europe. Some of the notable performance locations in Scotland included St. Patrick’s and Ely Cathedrals. In Ireland, she enjoyed leading the group at Dublin and Kells, while in England, the group thrilled listeners in Lake Windermere and England.

Ms. Jordan’s interest in music stems back to her early childhood, where she devoted much time to studying and performing in a variety of choirs and school groups. Through her own personal experiences and academic work, her passion came to encompass the realm of Music Therapy in recent years. She has delivered a TEDx Talk on the topic and her thesis discussed the application of music in helping students find their place and make sense of a world that can be chaotic and confusing. Ms. Jordan intends to pursue a Master’s degree in Music Therapy with a concentration in Special Needs Education for Mental and Emotional Health. This will further expand on her previous experience with public school special education departments where she has helped students face their challenges playing instruments or singing.
