If you've ever wanted to learn how to compose and perform your own original music, the Songwriting Performance Program is perfect for you. In this program we will cover all the necessary components to songwriting such as chord construction, how to write melodies, creative lyric writing, song structures and how they change between genres and general music theory. Learn how to express your original musical ideas and perform them with your peers at SoR this spring! We also will be implementing the newly created School of Rock Songwriting Curriculum!

In concert for one season only: two of the most influential artists of all time! Fronted by pop powerhouse Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac changed the definition of rock and roll as we know it. A superstar in her own right, Taylor Swift has written, sung, and played it all. This season will dig into the influences and history of both artists, as well as their many musical and compositional similarities for a dynamic and unique show.

This performance program will be all about the amazing music created, written and produced by the living legend Stevie Wonder!! The term musical genius gets thrown around often, but in the case of Stevie Wonder it is warranted. With elements of Soul, Funk, Rock and Pop, the music of Stevie Wonder is an incredible education in music!!

THE MUSIC OF MEMPHIS - SATURDAYS from 3:00-4:30pm Group A, 4:30pm-6:00pm Group B

This Spring Performance Program will feature the incredible music that came out of Memphis, TN!! The musical history of Memphis didn’t start (or end) with Sun Records. Memphis has a rich musical history that includes Blues, Rockabilly, Soul and Rock and Roll.

In this adult performance program it will be all about 70s ROCK!! Students will learn the music of Aerosmith, Heart, Led Zeppelin, ABBA, The Eagles, Blondie and many more!!
