Nick Tittle began belting out his jazzy feel-good tunes under the wing of Fort Worth local legend Scott Copeland. Starting back in 2010, Nick would rehearse on an empty stage after closing time and without an audience at the Thirsty Armadillo in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. This melodic pioneer fed off of musicians like Ray LaMontagne, Alice in Chains, and Otis Redding. Since then, he has created his own unique style that is now taking him to stages in front of audiences all over Texas. His debut album - titled appropriately, 'Screaming for Candy Art' - hit the shelves in 2013. The tracks blast altruistic original euphonies that are a refreshing addition to the Texas music scene. He is now the lead singer/rhythm guitar player for Fort Worth band Arenda Light.

Micah was born near Frankfurt, Germany. He grew up playing in lots of different bands, churches, and schools. Micah started with piano and then drums, guitar, and vocals. He listened to a lot of Ska Punk and Hardcore bands growing up, but even though, his musical influence is in the alternative scene, for the past decade he has been playing in various churches and Christian youth events. Micah just graduated with a degree from The College at Southwestern (Biblical Studies and Music) in Fort Worth and started his graduate degree there this year. Currently, you will be seeing him playing in churches, orchestras, Jazz combos, producing and studying music, as well as teaching at School of Rock! His philosophy is to equip each drummer to fulfill their role as a musician in any band. He believes a drummer's purpose is to let others fulfill their instrumental role. He lives this principle out on the drums and strives to do the same in his life.

Winning a guitar playing competition at Six Flags, at age 12, only confirmed what Matt already knew - he was a guitar player, foremost and forever. Matt shares a characteristic with Jimi Hendrix - he is rarely seen without a guitar in his hands, no matter where he is. Quiet and thoughtful, Matt transforms on stage into a swirling note devil, sonic-ally surfing over wave upon wave of raw powerful sound. Like Slash, he defies the predictability of category, and seeks to be completely responsive to the at-mos of the moment - fast or fluid. his phrasing has an eloquence that is the voice of his soul. Matthew exclusively plays Buddy Blaze Custom Original Flying V Guitars.

Adam Baxter comes from a musical family and his father played trumpet in high school, sang tenor in local gospel quartets, and was the music director at their local church throughout his childhood. His mother participated in church choir and played piano and/or organ for church as long as Baxter can remember. "I personally started out singing in 1985 at the age of five, and then started taking piano lessons at age nine, and saxophone at age ten," he remembers. Upon graduating from Friends University in Wichita KS in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, he plays a total any saxophone, the bassoon, guitar (acoustic and electric), bass (electric and upright), didgeridoo, drums, trumpet, trombone, cello, and extended his vocal range to cover up to four octaves. Currently he is the Lead Vocalist and Rhythm Guitarist for local Nu-Metal band Without Sacrifice, playing all over DFW and the surrounding region regularly.

Testimonials

  • “1. I like that the kids learn actual music theory, from actual musicians. 2. I like that they learn in a group setting and private setting. I feel you can learn as much watching others as you can just practicing on your own. 3. I like that the studio is a "safe" place, its well supervised without being a drag, it still has the rock and roll feel but I don't have to worry about other kids being mean. 4 I like that you take them out and let them perform in actual "performance" venues! Nothing like rocking out in a bar in Deep Ellum,! They really felt like "rock stars"! 5. I like that the instructors are not only musicians, but "Rock Stars" too! Learning to have that "rock star" strut, attitude and confidence does not come naturally for a lot of people, so having "rock stars" to emulate is awesome! This beats the old frumpy music lessons of my youth! I love this place!”
    -- Laura Abel, Mansfield Tx
  • “They really do give your child a true rock star experience! Playing live shows at cool venues, practicing and getting lessons all gave my son more confidence in his performances and he really loves going here.”
    — Meghan Morgan, Mansfield Tx
  • “School of Rock makes learning an instrument fun. After having taken piano lessons for 4 years, my 12 year old daughter became bored with it, and decided she wanted to play drums. We enrolled her at School of Rock Mansfield, and she LOVES playing drums! She enjoys both private lessons, as well as playing with a band. We love to see her perform at the local venues. Her confidence has skyrocketed since she has been at School of Rock. I would highly recommend S.O.R. to anyone!”
    — Cherie Renfroe, Mansfield Tx
  • “Staff has excellent relationship with students. They make learning fun. Nick can't wait to go there and doesn't want to leave. Everyone there such great positive role models and learning environment with positive reinforcement.”
    — Deborah Marmon, Mansfield Tx
