Using proprietary set-ups for guitar, bass, drums and keyboard, as well as other tools, we introduce our Rookies to music fundamentals in a fun way. The skills and passion for music that our Rookies learn prepare them for Rock 101 and a lifelong love of music.

With exercises, tools and games customized to their age group, our Littleton Rookies learn the concepts of music theory, rhythm, pitch, form and dynamics as they play alongside their friends. We encourage our students to explore various instruments and play styles so they begin to understand how individual contributions form a band; even the best solo keyboard players or vocalists need to understand how an ensemble works.

Seger Marion is multi-instrumentalist residing in the Denver area. While drums are his first love, songwriting quickly became his second. To support that endeavor, guitar, bass, keys, and naturally, vocals became a part of his active repertoire. He pursued a degree in Recording Arts and received his Bachelor’s from the University of Colorado Denver. Thanks to his time at the university level, Seger has built a solid background of music theory, performance, and diversity which he brings to his teaching platform. This, combined with the cultural experience of having lived in places such as Germany and Australia, gives him a unique perspective on the role music plays in everyday life.

Seger currently plays drums in a band called Birch Street from Denver, Colorado and fronts a band called Larimer Lights with fellow School of Rock compatriots, Justin Doe and Jason Barteck.

Alex comes from an artistic family of singers, guitar players, dancers, painters and above all, teachers. He was enrolled at an early age in art, drama, and music classes - some even taught by his relatives. Alex found his true calling in music when he picked up his dad's guitar at the of age 8. From there on out, he's embarked on a life in music. Alex founded his first band at the age of 13 with his little brother and has played in and out of bands since. In high school, he participated in music, drama and choir programs while holding a job at the local music store where he learned to be a competent technician for a wide variety of instruments. This is when he began giving lessons for guitar and vocals. Since then, Alex has played in several bands touring the country, made it on the radio and played with prominent national acts. Once moving to Denver, he found a new family of musicians at School of Rock that also love to share the joy of music through teaching.

Karen Cuda has cut her teeth in many Denver bands over the years, and most notably spent 2004-2013 rockin’ the low end with her surf green Fender bass with Grammy nominated rock band, Nashville Pussy, as they toured the globe. From multiple tours of Europe, Australia, South America, Canada, and the Far East, and back to the USA, Karen has been playing her bass with a big attitude and a ferocious confidence for nearly hundreds of thousands of fans. As a former member of Nashville Pussy, her thundering bass lines appeared on three albums, “Get Some” (2005), “From Hell to Texas” (2009), and 2012's re-release of "From Hell To Texas", which included many additional live tracks. She also appeared on the live DVD, “Live in Hollywood” (2008). Prior to her role in Nashville Pussy, she was a founding member of the now retired Denver, CO power pop trio Hemi Cuda. She appeared as bassist, co-writer, and co-vocalist on both albums by the band, “Classics for Lovers” (2004) and “Thick Riffs & Tasty Licks” (2006), on which she also co-produced. In the summer of 2009, Karen participated as the bass instructor and “band coach” with Girls Rock Denver, a non-profit program which teaches music and self-empowerment to Denver area girls at an annual summer music camp. Karen returned to Girls Rock Denver in 2010, even expanding on her duties as gear and showcase venue coordinator, in addition to recruiting some instructors. Karen began working with School Of Rock Denver and School Of Rock Littleton in the summer of 2012 by hosting "Karen Cuda's Punk Parties", two "boot camp" productions which she co-directed and coached. She continues her work with School Of Rock as a part time performance program co-director. Karen also continues to be a frequent accompanying bass player with virtuoso guitarist/songwriter, Eric McFadden, and is currently working on her own musical projects in Denver.

Testimonials

  • “SOR Littleton teaches more than just music lessons, my son has not only become an amazing guitarist, but he has learned lessons about responsibility, team work, dedication, respect and the list goes on. I am so grateful to have found SOR, I can honestly say it has changed his life. His grades have improved tremendously, he's more confident and proud of his accomplishments. Every single one of the staff members/instructors at SOR are role models for my son, he looks up to them and they don't disappoint. I am constantly recommending SOR Littleton to friends and family. There are a lot of music schools around, but there's nothing that compares to SOR. Don't believe me? come see my 11 year old shred that guitar on stage and you won't believe your ears!!! ”
    -Lucy Kolody
  • “I love the quality of the teachers, the quality and consistency of instruction, and the emphasis on fun. You don't really realize how much this program pays off until you see your kid in other environments - comfortable in front of an audience, self-possessed, confident, and loving music of all kinds. ”
    -Nikki Baird
  • “The management, directors, instructors, and all of the staff in general are amazing with the kids (and parents). My daughter has been going to SoR Littleton for 2 years and has grown from starting with little to no experience, to performing on keys, guitar, and even vocals - as well as becoming an active member in House Band for 3 seasons. The program itself gets kids excited to learn different instruments as well as provides them with a deep appreciation for all kinds of music and increases their confidence through the on stage performances.”
    - Charlene Conner
  • “Provides a community that is supportive and fun for our kids to learn excellent music skills. You empower kids to shine and do their thing, love it and I just recommended SOR to someone a couple of weeks ago. We think its great!”
    -Jennifer Myers
