Sarah Verastegui General Manager
Sarah began her musical career at the age of seven after going so far as creating a construction paper violin just to have the opportunity to play the instrument. She continued her musical training in middle school, joining the school choir and going on to be accepted into the local children's chorus. She has had the opportunity to perform at the Grand Opening of the Hobby Center and with Josh Groban at the 38th Super Bowl held in Houston. As an adult, she performed vocals and keys with a Christian rock band for five years. Her musical influences range from Josh Groban, Lindsey Sterling to the Foo Fighters and Aerosmith.
Brian Rowe Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Piano Teacher
Brian has been playing music for over 14 years. He started his musical journey because he just loves music. He is the former guitarist for The Scooter Brown Band and is currently in The Lime Traders. He has toured locally with The Lime Traders and nationally with The Scooter Brown Band. He has opened up for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Charlie Daniels. He has played at Blue Bird in Nashville, Bridgestone Arena, House of Blues, NRG Arena and Minute Maid Park. Brian enjoys any music with soul.
Sadie Williams Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
Sadie began her musical journey at the age of 10 when she first heard the album "Led Zeppelin II." Soon after, she received her very first electric guitar from a local music store, Andrew's Music, where she now works also. She is completely self-taught and has been playing music for over 11 years. She has been in several local groups throughout the years and has even met some cool rockstars along the way, including Ozzy Osbourne and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.
She is currently in two bands that perform all over the Houston area, The Kaleidoscope Project and The Adequate. She specializes in guitar but is notable for being able to play many other instruments as well as teach them, including bass, mandolin, dulcimer, ukulele, keyboard and drums. Sadie's favorite bands and artists include Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Robin Trower, KISS, ZZ Top, Pat Travers, AC/DC, Mountain and so many more.
Kat O'Brien Studio Coordinator
Kat started her musical journey in grade school, where she first joined choir. From there, she actually became a student at School of Rock and graduated out of the program. She plays bass for a local band called The Kaleidoscope Project and tours around Houston. Kat's favorite bands are Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, The Clovers and Vulfpeck.
Nathan Bourgeois Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher
Nathan Bourgeois has been playing music for over 10 years. He graduated from the School of Rock program and quickly became an intern and then an instructor. He has always enjoyed sharing his love for music and playing instruments with others. Some of Nathan's favorite bands are King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys. He is a guitar teacher, bass guitar teacher and drum teacher at School of Rock Kingwood.
Garrett Keys Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Piano Teacher, Drum Teacher
Garrett Keys has been playing instruments for many years. He has come very far after giving up as a child after not being able to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Garrett gigs with a few bands in the Houston area. He is known for his interesting talent of being able to play difficult bass lines and sing at the same time. His favorite bands include, but are not limited to, Dada, Rush, Yes, Streetlight Manifesto, The Mountain Goats and plenty more. He is a guitar teacher, bass guitar teacher, piano teacher and drum teacher at School of Rock Kingwood.
Paul Whitley Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Piano Teacher, Vocal Instructor, Drum Teacher
Paul Whitley started playing drums when he was 10 years old after watching a performance of John Bonham live at the Royal Albert Hall. He picked up guitar when he was 13. He has sung in numerous choirs since he was a sophomore in high school. He has an associate's degree in Music from Lonestar-Kingwood with a focus in Vocal Performance. Paul has recorded two full-length albums with a band called The Share Fire, and has played various instruments in different bands around Houston for many years. He now is working as an audio engineer for several projects and plays in two bands called Van Heroine and the Chicken Scratchers, and Chromatophore. He is a guitar teacher, bass guitar teacher, piano teacher, drum teacher and vocal instructor at School of Rock Kingwood.
TeriGina Herrera Vocal Instructor
TeriGina Herrera’s mother let her watch Barney and Disney movies since she was a year old and she hasn’t stopped singing since. A couple of years after moving to the Houston area TeriGina found herself inspired in a movie theatre while watching "Phantom of the Opera" for the first time. When she discovered that you could combine all her favorite activities into one style of performing, she was hooked. She watched that movie repeatedly until she realized that she was a soprano. She then had the privilege to sing at Carnegie Hall with Dr. Todd Miller’s Concert Choir in 2007. After doing a couple of HFAC community theatre shows, she transferred to Klein High School her junior year in order to receive a better music education and was able to get into music theory AP her senior year. That was when TeriGina began her professional training in vocal performance. She has been vocally trained by five local Houston instructors. She received an Associate Degree Field of Study in Music in 2017. Her styles may vary from musical theater, to rock and jazz, but she does not forget to use the classical techniques. Currently she is a part of her church’s choir and praise team, Toto, We’re Not in Kansas Anymore., Austin Bash and They Glow in the Dark…, Chromatophore and Van Heroine and the Chicken Scratchers. She is a vocal instructor at School of Rock Kingwood.
Tyler Lucas Music Director
Tyler Lucas is a credited singer/songwriter with blues and rock influences originally from Chino Hills, California. Currently he resides in Houston, playing acoustic and rock shows all over Texas and the surrounding areas. Tyler has been performing for over 10 years and has recorded in award-winning studios in Nashville and Houston. He has written songs that have played on radio stations throughout Texas. As well as his acoustic career, Tyler is a part of a rock n' roll band, Vanilla Whale, where he has had success with radio play and has opened up for bands like Living Color, Lita Ford, Radio Moscow and The Sheep Dogs. Tyler’s influences range from The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin to John Mayer, Sturgill Simpson and Johnny Cash. He is the Music Director at School of Rock Kingwood.
