His growing fascination with classical music started influencing how he wrote for the band he established at age 16, and local musicians and fans alike were starting to take notice that he was doing something fresh and original. His fascination would soon lead him to pursue a degree in music composition from Wayne State University, where he studied with notable Detroit Symphony Orchestra musicians and graduated with honors. In addition to his work as a performer in popular genres, Terry has also kept a foot in the classical music realm. As a choral tenor, he has participated in notable performances such as High Mass in the Vatican in 2003, Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Itzhak Perlman, as well as multiple performances with Andrea Bocceli at MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Looking forward toward the future, Terry is going beyond his roles of composer, producer, performer, and educator by venturing into learning new skill sets in blockchain technology and AI machine learning, with a focus on how these newer technologies can integrate into both the creative process and the future of the music industry.
