Ed Diaz Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Piano Teacher
Esdraz ("Ed") Diaz has been playing the guitar since he was 11 years old. He was originally inspired by the 'shred movement' of the 80s, but it was once he discovered Swedist artist Yngwie Malmsteen that his life was truly changed. Throughout his high school years, Ed devoted himself to practice and study, performing live as much as possible and growing a reputation as one of the best guitar players in his local music scene. Shortly after his 18th birthday, he began teaching lessons locally at music stores and at some of the best music schools in the area. By age 21, he had already established himself as a highly sought-after teacher.
As an up-and-coming educator, Ed was highly influenced by his own teachers, including Dr. Isaac Lausell and Santy Mage. He attended the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico for Music Performance and began to fine-tune his teaching method, focusing on creating a goal-oriented, performance-based experience for his students. Over the years, Ed has developed a unique teaching style aimed at maximizing the student's development through customized lesson plans, which are structured around the individual student's musical goals while still keeping lessons fun and dynamic.
After more than 20 years of professional musical experience, mentoring other aspiring musicians has become a big part of Ed's teaching. He believes that learning music should be a rewarding experience, and that the role of the teacher is to encourage the student and ensure that he or she is having fun learning to play music. Ed enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels. He is a guitar teacher, bass guitar teacher and piano teacher at School of Rock Golden/Lakewood.
