Chris has been playing guitar for 18 years and in that time, he has recorded/toured/performed with bands covering everything from pop to polka! A music-lover from the beginning, Chris grew up listening to rock and metal music, and was first inspired to pick up the guitar after watching his father play the music of Van Halen on his guitar. Following a haphazard fill-in gig with a blues band at the age of 15, Chris dove headfirst into the local scene and started forming/playing in bands until graduating high school in 2009. Less than a week after graduation Chris was on the road with Murphy’s Law, an original rock band.

Weeks after the end of the tour, Chris joined what would become his main project for the next 4 years, The Euphio Question, an original jazz/rock outfit. With the band, Chris played nearly 100 shows in and out of Springfield, recorded one full-length album, two EPs, and numerous unused songs, and covered more styles than he had in any other band. In Euphio Question’s downtime Chris performed with country singer Liz Moriondo, pop cover band Pearl, Americana/ singer-songwriter artist Tony Menown, and numerous fill-in gigs. With the Euphio Question coming to an end in mid-2013 Chris was left without a full-time gig, and decided to pursue music in a different direction.

While he enjoyed the challenges of performing/recording with The Euphio Question, Chris’ passion has always been for hard rock/metal music, citing Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Black Sabbath, Accept, and The Scorpions as key influences. When opportunity knocked, Chris answered the call and joined local metal outfit Death May Die in late 2013. Since then, Chris has focused all of his efforts on Death May Die and original metal project Transylvania. We are excited to have Chris on our staff!

At 11 years old, Jeannie started her music journey with piano and clarinet lessons. She is sort of a “jack of all trades” within the music industry. Her music career started with teaching piano, voice, guitar, clarinet, alto saxophone, and classes. From there, it expanded into instrument sales, managing student recitals and conducting, small recording projects, string instrument repairs, and of course playing solo shows and in house bands too. She started in bands as young as 16, playing keys, guitar, and singing in her first house/cover band, All Tuned Up in 2010. Her first album, Move Along, released on October 31st, 2016 through Keirsey Music Productions, and features many originals Jeannie wrote throughout her childhood.

Jeannie has shared her passion for music to the community. In High School, she was in wind ensemble, jazz band, marching band, pep band, and concert choir. She volunteered over 100 hours of community service, playing in local winter holiday parades, and orchestras for musicals. Since 2015, Jeannie has heavily invested time with the Girls Rock Camp Alliance. She started volunteering her services as a Gear Coordinator and Lesson Instructor in Carbondale Girls Rock Camp. Her duties increased when she transferred to Queen City Rock Camp in 2016. She’s part of the volunteer committee, volunteer band, organizing fundraising events, and helping the camp rock out as much as possible!

Her career began at 14, teaching a few private lessons: Now she’s a full-time musician. Jeannie has completed her 10th year teaching music and helping others start their music journey. She completes her Bachelor’s Degree through Missouri State University December 2017. Jeannie joined School of Rock in 2015 as a studio coordinator. Now she’s also a string technician, private instructor in piano, voice, guitar, and a Junior Performance Program Director. We are so happy to have her be a part of the School of Rock Team!

BJ Rossi has been a working performer since he was a mere lad of nine. There is a special distinction that comes with being a professional in any field. Mr. Rossi defines professional drummer. BJ was a performance major at the Metropolitan State College in Denver, CO and University of Colorado in Denver. Hannah Sheehan is an acoustic singer-songwriter from Tennessee who recorded 10 tracks from her album Rust all on a single day in a San Diego recording studio. The resulting is astonishing. Clemens has a voice that when you first hear it is both angelic and striking, reminiscent of the folk singer Jewel, Ann McCue or a feistier Joan Baez. During a sustained note, she has that ability to change moods almost instantly and effortlessly. Rust is the song that captured me first; it leaves me drained and speechless every time I hear it. Beginning of the End is a slow and philosophical lullaby that says farewell to all kinds of things (she sings “Sit back and watch the city self-destruct” with a sense both of foreboding and acceptance). Have I mentioned that Clemens writes her own songs? Floodplains is a heart-rending song about a collapsing city (“Yesterday was a party/today it ends; this is a city that breaks /but never bends”). Other songs are more upbeat. You go is a heartfelt song about missing someone and not being able to enjoy pleasures in the same way during his absence. (Compare to John Denver’s Leaving on a Jet Plane). Clemens also performs as a member of the singing female duo Minor Vine and released a brighter and livelier EP album Undo Undid. In 2011 she was in a band called Smokemonster and released an EP called Frisky Whiskey.

Jay Stevens was born into rock music, in Santa Monica, California. His dad was one of the first guys making music videos for MTV, and from a very early age Jay lived in the world of being around artists, going to concerts, and living behind the scenes in the music business. Jay started playing guitar and piano in the 4th grade. He ended up attending high school in Hawaii, where he would perform in nightclubs, but because he was so young he would have to sit in the kitchen on breaks! After high school, Jay returned to L.A. at the very end of the 80s Rock Era. Jay played in several Hollywood bands, until he got an offer to sing in Hawaii, 4 nights a week where he was paid to play music. This idea sounded great so he returned to Hawaii and started a family. In 2000 Jay had a song on Hawaiian radio and was asked to host a weekly radio show, radio was a perfect fit for his “rock star” persona. Jay later moved to New Orleans to be a part of rock radio, and sang on Bourbon street several nights a week.

He has spent the last 10 years in L.A. performing his one-man comedy rock show and singing for various tribute acts across the country and on cruise ships, specializing in playing Roger Daltrey and Jon Bon Jovi. Jay moved to the Springfield area in 2012, to get out of big city life. He has 3 daughters and currently performs as Jon Bon Jovi in his own Branson show "Livin on a Prayer" every Saturday and is a Rock Radio DJ on 104.7 The Cave M-F 2-7pm.
