Having grown up in Switzerland, Rudy moved to Chicago in the summer of 2009 in order to attend Columbia College Chicago. 4 years later he walked out with a Bachelors of Music, with a concentration in Instrumental Performance for Bass. He’d had the opportunity to study under a slew of great musicians in that time (and learn a number of other instruments including guitar, piano and drums), and was fortunate to be offered a position playing bass for Australian blues artist Michael Charles. His time on the road with this band gave him a lot to think about when it came to actually applying what he’d learned over the years. He’s currently playing all around Chicago with his bands The Lulabelles and The Devilish Winks, and slowly working on some small projects of his own. Rudy is always ready to talk music with anyone who’ll listen!

Midway through his second year in business school at Miami University, Pete Ford had a sudden epiphany to become a professional songwriter. Upon leaving Miami, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he began his musical journey and learned how to speak Spanish very poorly! He eventually moved back to the States to get his music degree, graduating with honors at Columbia College in Chicago.

After graduating, Pete moved out west to Santa Cruz, CA where he began teaching and playing music full-time. He eventually started his own business, 'The Serenade Store,' where he still writes, records and performs personalized songs for special occasions.

His motto for Music and Life is simple: Do what you have to do to keep the dream alive! Pete has an extraordinary passion for sharing his unique musical perspectives with anyone that is eager to listen. His goal in teaching is to find out what drives each individual student and help guide them along their individual path.

Danielle Brown is the General Manager and a Little Wing instructor at the School of Rock Hinsdale. Danielle grew up in Mount Prospect, Illinois where she fondly recalls waking up every morning to the sound of her dad playing songs by James Brown. Like a lot of people who are passionate about music, Danielle has woven her way in and outside of the industry. Starting at the College of DuPage, she became involved in organizing monthly concerts for local bands. From there, Danielle relocated herself to Nashville which was the place to be "before it was the place to be." Once in Nashville, she continued to pursue music-related jobs (including one at Clear Channel) as well as a Bachelor's degree. Danielle's BA in Organizational Leadership as well as her current Master's program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling have both found purpose at the School of Rock Hinsdale. Here, she applies her business skills as she fields incoming calls and sits in on staff meetings. And as a Little Wing instructor, she's able to apply her knowledge of "play therapy." Recognizing differences and how to motivate each student is one of her greatest strengths and personal rewards. Danielle's story is a reminder to anyone who loves music that there is a place for everyone, especially at the School of Rock DuPage County.

Paden Guido is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from the Chicagoland area as well as a former School of Rock student and Allstar. As a youngster, Paden loved to sing and eventually took classical lessons at the age of 7. Through classical, musical theater, and an obsession for Etta James, Paden started to build her voice and eventually branched out to other genres when she discovered School of Rock at the age of 15. She quickly picked up guitar and bass on top of the new vocal techniques she learned and was selected to go on the Allstars tour, which she participated in three times until she graduated from the school in 2016.

She has played at venues such as Lincoln Hall, JBTV, Schuba’s, Cobra Lounge, Beat Kitchen, and Empty Bottle as well as several festivals across the nation (Lollapalooza, MoPop, and Gathering of the Vibes). Currently a student at DePaul University, Paden is working on new projects with a variety of musicians from the local Chicago scene. As a voice teacher, Paden cannot wait to give back to School of Rock and give her students the best musical experience possible.

      ANNE DILLS
Franchise Owner, School of Rock (Naperville, Hinsdale, & Elmhurst)
Anne grew up in Burr Ridge and Hinsdale as a child, so it made since when the opportunity came to open up her first School of Rock location in Naperville with her partner (and mom) Denise Dills back in 2010. She currently lives in Western Springs with her husband and the couple is expecting their first child in fall.
Anne has since opened up two additional School of Rock locations in both Hinsdale and Elmhurst. When venturing out and starting her own business, Anne loved the idea of creating something from nothing. “I find it exciting and meaningful to create jobs that didn’t exist before and give people an opportunity to grow and develop,” she shares.

School of Rock is a performance based music school, where both kids and adults can receive a great musical education. Anne also emphasizes the creation of a caring community within her School of Rock locations, where all students feel inspired and are supportive of one another. “Our faculty is a close knit group of professional rock musicians, who are still actively creating, recording and performing music,” she adds.

As for her biggest inspiration and advocate to become a ladypreneur? That would be her mom, Denise Dills, who became a ladypreneur herself in her 50’s after her children were grown.

      1. Favorite motivational speaker? Dale Carnegie.

      2. #1 reason for being a ladypreneur? I decided to start my own company, so no one else could dictate to me the values I feel that it is important to live out in my family life and my professional life.

      3. The one thing you wish you had known when starting your business? Ensure that you feel so passionately about the service or product you are creating that the journey of having it brought to fruition is worth the effort regardless of if you succeed financially.

Testimonios

  • “The Hinsdale location is really convenient. It's so close to the schools and for a lot of people, it's within walking distance from their house. And because it's downtown, kids feel like they can hang out at the School of Rock a little before their lesson. Then, if there's space they can practice in an empty room or if there isn't space they can grab something to eat then come back for rehearsal. Going there is part of their routine.”
    — Melinda H., Mother of School of Rock Hinsdale student
  • “What they're basically doing at the School of Rock is the Suzuki Method for rock 'n roll and it works. I never, ever thought I'd be doing this.”
    - Trinka R., Parent and Adult Drum Student in Old Skool, School of Rock Hinsdale's Adult Program
  • “I'm really not an extrovert. But when I joined Old Skool and I saw that there were two other moms that were going to sing with me that also didn't have music experience, I thought, "We're going to do this together.' And now, it's weird, I no longer need other singers on stage with me because I know I can do this. It's like you do everything for your kids but performing for Old Skool is something you can actually do for yourself.”
    — Amy B., Romeoville, IL
  • “I love that the Instructors and Management encourage kids of all skill levels. I love that they challenges the kids to take chances without fear of consequences. I love that experienced kids get a change to be mentors to newer members. I love the faces of the kids coming off the stage after just killing a set. I love the variety of the music that the kids are introduced to. I love seeing kids playing multiple instruments. I could go on and on, I love what School of Rock is all about.”
    — Parent of School of Rock Hinsdale student
