About School of Rock Farmington

Welcome to School of Rock Farmington—a haven for aspiring musicians who love rock n’ roll. We believe live performance is the most fun and effective way to teach an instrument, which is why we get kids playing on stage as quickly as possible. Our classes are tailored to all age groups and levels of proficiency, and instructors are passionate about creating a legacy of music by helping students succeed in music and beyond.

We also believe that music is more than a solo act. That’s why School of Rock Farmington teaches kids to play alone and as part of a team. This approach promotes accountability, speeds up the learning process, and fosters an inclusive community of rockers in Farmington. Students are not only learning an instrument—they’re making friends, building confidence, and becoming better people.

Eric is the newest addition to the School of Rock Farmington. He is also a musician, and learned how to play music years before the School of Rock franchise was put into motion. So, when the opportunity arose to work in a field he loved, he jumped at it. Mostly self-taught, he picked up a bass at age 15 and it just took off from there. He has been playing in bands for over 20 years, and currently plays in several local groups: Ethos (Guitar), Siamese (Bass Guitar), a Cure tribute band, Re-Cure (Guitar and Keyboards) and a Blondie tribute band, Blond-E (Guitar). He's excited to bring his years of experience in the music business to the School of Rock family. He has a love of all different styles of music and enjoys seeing the kids get the kind of musical experience that he didn't, watching them forge new lifelong friendships with fellow students, and applying the skills they learn at the school to everyday life.

Learning to play guitar was always something Dale wanted to do, but there was never a place for him to learn growing up; so it was put it on the back burner for about 30 years. Dale decided to pursue his desire to learn to play the guitar, the search for a suitable instructor led to the School of Rock in Rochester. He has been a student there ever since and currently plays guitar in 'Group Therapy', the Rochester School of Rock adult band. He quickly became a big advocate for the program. "When I heard about the franchising opportunities through School of Rock, I decided that I really wanted to bring students in my local area the opportunities that I got from being a student at the School of Rock. In my time with the School of Rock, I have done things I never thought I would do, including playing a concert in front of a live audience and recording a CD. These are invaluable experiences." As a lifelong music fan, School of Rock has introduced Dale to local musicians and even allowed him to play local venues. "Detroit has a rich history of rock and pop; it is just a part of the culture, and School of Rock really embodies all of that."
