About School of Rock Coral Springs

Welcome to School of Rock Coral Springs—a haven for aspiring musicians who love rock n’ roll. We believe live performance is the most fun and effective way to teach an instrument, which is why we get kids playing on stage as quickly as possible. Our classes are tailored to all age groups and levels of proficiency, and instructors are passionate about creating a legacy of music by helping students succeed in music and beyond.

We also believe that music is more than a solo act. That’s why School of Rock Coral Springs teaches kids to play alone and as part of a team. This approach promotes accountability, speeds up the learning process, and fosters an inclusive community of rockers in Coral Springs. Students are not only learning an instrument—they’re making friends, building confidence, and becoming better people.

  • Our Rock 101 Program at School of Rock Coral Springs is focused on making the first steps of a young student’s journey both fun and successful. The days of mundane music instruction are over. At School of Rock Coral Springs, we believe that playing music together is the only real path to mastering an instrument and developing a true love for music.

In Rock 101, we focus our instruction on the one instrument that students have chosen to study. Whether we’re teaching scales, chords, notes, or time signatures, we put concepts in context so students understand how the principles they learn are applied to real music. Using some of the world’s most famous songs and infusing fun into every chord, Rock 101 allows Coral Springs students to enhance their skills and move on to our Performance Program.

Originating from Buffalo, NY, Sergio's passion for music is almost as big as his hair. His main hobbies include reading books and long walks on the beach. With the aspiration to master a single instrument, his musical journey began with the tambourine. Five minutes later he picked up the guitar as it seemed to be more of a suitable instrument. Watching his uncle play a few classic licks from bands like Black Sabbath and Van Halen is what really inspired him to learn. He attended an AP music theory course in high school and relied primarily on books to further his education in music. His future plans involve attending Florida Atlantic University to get a degree in music. You can usually find him roaming around at Guitar Center in Coconut Creek, as he is an assistant manager there. In addition, he is currently in a musical group entitled Metalhorse who has self proclaimed to be "the best band coming out of Margate with the name Metalhorse". The name of the band is a bit ironic though. They do not play metal and they are also not horses. Where they got the name I really cannot say. But anyways, they have played in several bars and at street festivals in the area. Plus, they apparently won a battle of the bands at Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale. They're still waiting to collect the money however.

the age of 16 his career as a professional musician was launched, playing popular songs

recording artist Clarence Reid, which led to 6 tours of the United States and Canada,
including performances at the CMJ Music Conference in New York City and the South by

Australia with Mr. Reid at the Big Day Out festival, which included stops in Auckland,
New Zealand, and the Australian coast.
After earning his Bachelors degree in jazz performance from Florida
International University, Robert was hired as an instructor for the School of Rock,
teaching his love for music at two of the school’s locations. This summer found Robert
completing his second tour with Blues guitarist Joel Dasilva, which included
performances at the Montreal Jazz and Blues Festival, Mont Tremblant Blues festival, as

Testimonials

  • “School of Rock has become a way of life! My son has been going there for guitar for about 3.5 years. He started at 10 years old. He has recently started keyboard lessons as well. My youngest son, who just turned 6 is also a student, taking drum lessons. School of Rock has become such an important part of our livesnot only has it made our son a phenomenal guitar player and winner of the Louis Armstrong Jazz award for guitar, we have made many family friends for life from the school. There are opportunities to see your kids on stage all year long, and if not your own, going to all of the shows is a great way to get out and socialize with other School of Rock families. We can't say enough good stuff about the School of Rock to begin to cover it. Great place!!!”
    - Ivie S., parent, Coral Springs, Fl
  • “My kids love it here! I think they would live there if they could. They take lessons and participate in the performance programevery season they get to perform shows at local venues (like neighborhood amphitheaters, restaurants and other outdoor spaces). All the kids here are really welcoming and everyone is accepted. But most of all the people who work there are AMAZING! The instructors are really caring and passionate about the kids, the school and the music. It's a very special group of people.”
    - Anna T., parent, Florida
  • “Thank you bBurny, Andrew Musselman, Mike Haddox and Kevin Stwart at SoR Coral Springs. Nate started as a shy 9 or 10 year old on drums who sat in the corner and rarely talked. Now at 19 in his last gig before moving on we were awed. We couldn't be more proud of him and thankful to you for being such great role models and giving him the safe place you gave him to become who he is one amazing musician and young man.”
    - Erin B., parent, Parkland, Fl
  • “What is cool is being able to go and do this now...as a grown up, mom, wife, working, fully scheduled, etc...something I didn't get the opportunity to do when I was young. So at 40 something I'm a student of music...finally...and get to play with some very cool people and learn...and apparently we killed it tonight. Props to all these guys I play with and thank you Mike, bB and School of Rock.”
    - Mary L., parent & adult program student, Coral Springs, Fl
