90's Rock (Tuesdays 5:45 - 8:15 PM)
The name says it all: students in this group will focus on music from a golden era of rock: the Nineties. Bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Green Day, Beastie Boys, and Pearl Jam will all make an appearance on the set list. While a wide range of styles will be covered, this show will be a particularly fun choice for guitarists, drummers, and vocalists.
Duos & Duets (Wednesdays 6:00 - 8:30 PM)
Some of the greatest hits in rock/pop history have been penned or performed by prolific pairs of musicians: Simon and Garfunkel, Hall and Oates, Tears for Fears, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, The White Stripes, The Black Keys, and Outkast are just a handful of names that come to mind. This show will explore the music of such icons and cover a variety of genres and styles. It's a good opportunity for any instrumentalist or vocalist with diverse musical interests.
Electric Blues (Thursdays, 5:45 - 8:15 PM)
Perhaps no other genre of music has had a bigger influence on rock than the blues, and those roots continue to show themselves today. We'll spend time this winter/spring season studying the music of blues/rock musicians and bands who featured the electric guitar, such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and ZZ Top. Although a great choice for guitarists and keyboardists of any level, other instrumentalists and vocalists will have plenty of room to shine as well.
