At School of Rock Tustin, we believe that playing real music is the only path to proficiency and a true appreciation for music.

In Rock 101, students select one instrument to study, and we begin teaching fundamentals: scales, chords, notes, time signatures, and all the rest. Our unique approach to music instruction teaches our students vital fundamentals through songs they know and love, not rote memorization. With real musical context in a fun environment, we give all of our students the knowledge they need to really pursue their passion for music.

Adam Gomez was born and raised in Southern California, spending most of his childhood in Los Angeles and then moving to the Inland Empire. He grew up surrounded by many cultures and musical backgrounds while maintaining a love for Punk, Metal and Rock n’ Roll.

After starting a Metal band just out of high school, Adam performed live for several years before deciding to earn his degree in drums and percussion from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. After graduating, he landed a gig with iconic Pop/Punk band The Dickies, which are most known for their late 70’s punk sound, being the first California Punk band to appear on national T.V. and their rendition of “Banana Splits” featured in the movie ‘Kick Ass.’ Since then, he has seen most of the world as official drummer for The Dickies. Adam has also recorded, collaborated and performed with artists such as The Adolescents, D.I., The Motel Life, Tommy Peacock and others. “The Dickies have been through many drummers throughout the years, but Adam G had the best audition, by far. He almost had me at hello. Within 30 seconds; I knew he was the guy.” –Stan Lee (Guitarist/Co Creator, The Dickies)

Education was a huge part of kick starting Adam's take-off as a professional musician. After Graduating from M.I., he has been teaching drums in Southern California, touring parts of the world and continuing to hand down the craft of precision, intelligence, ferocity and touch of a professional drummer to the new generations of kids with the desire to make, learn and rock out to the art of music.

Omari comes to us from Moreno Valley, California. At a young age Omari had an interest in music, watching all the greats on T.V. and tuning into them on the radio. Omari was exposed to all types of music as a child, such as Micheal Jackson, James Brown, Earth, Wind and Fire, The Beatles etc. When Omari turned 6 he was given a guitar from his Uncle, but never got around to learning it. It wasn't until high school that Omari was exposed to keys as he was in and out of church working with great musicians from the Inland empire to Los Angeles. His older brother is a praise and worship leader, allowing Omari to see teens his age playing all the instruments at church. Omari graduated from Bowie University in Baltimore, MD, where he gained more musical knowledge and new mentors. Omari has played in a band in college, performing in D.C. every chance he could get. Omari has also traveled to Seoul, Korea to perform and produce his music. Now in 2016 he's back west and building a name for himself as a producer, musician, and now an instructor here at SOR Tustin!

Testimonials

  • “School Of Rock has given me the best experience of my life. I have owned and played all kinds of musical instruments over the last 30 years or so and never really put them to use in a way like I have here. I started with private lessons and was begging the front desk to add an adult band. After a six month break I came back to find out there is an adult band! I went to rehearsal on a Wednesday night and was on a stage playing in a band for the first time of my life 3 days later. I like to take advantage of private lessons with as many instructors as possible because I have different styles and instruments. They work with that and that is never is a problem for the school. I have to travel to go to School of Rock Tustin, but if they put one in my town I would not transfer. Jordan and Tara have made the environment a family atmosphere and I couldn't be more happy with the program. Beside that, if you have seen these kids play a show, you would understand what I'm talking about. I mean really! School of Rock Tustin ROCKS! And we will blow the roof off of our next show! ”
Eric Knehans, Adult Band Member- Tustin, CA
  • “School of Rock. The best music school anywhere. This whole idea of getting kids not just taking lessons and learning notes and chords, but learning songs and playing with other young musicians, and getting out on stage… I was so impressed that my daughter Cheyenne goes to School of Rock on Long Island. ”
    — Dee Snider, Twisted Sister
  • “How much more excited my boys are at practicing with others. The band experience, getting along with band mates, learning from each other, creating together. Even if my boys don't ever pursue a career in music, these are valuable life skills for any profession. The teachers are cool and talented too! My boys are having the time of their lives! ”
    - Carolyn S - Tustin, CA
  • “Your shows give students an authentic rock band performance experience. As a House Band member, my daughter has many opportunities to perform and she loves it. Dedication, commitment, and teamwork are stressed and students develop close friendships.”
