A veteran guitarist, bassist, drummer, percussionist, vocalist, recording engineer, producer, and composer, Marc Reczek (pronounced Wreck-Sick ) has been playing music since he picked up his first guitar at the age of ten. The Houston Press voted him one of the top five guitarists in Houston, Texas. His jazz band was also rated in the top five by the Houston Press (with Reczek on bass).Originally from Vermont, he moved to Houston to attend college and earned a degree in Music Business. He has been a professional musician since the age of fifteen. In addition to his musical talents, he is also an accomplished recording engineer and booking agent, and is well versed in music business, which has honed his band management skills. Reczek's influences come from a variety of sources including The Beatles, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Alice in Chains, Phish, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Drop Trio, The Grateful Dead, Medeski Martin and Wood, Slide Five, The Beastie Boys, The Beach Boys, and Umphrey's McGee.His rhythmic style is "all in the wrist," describing the clean and percussive approach he takes to writing funk grooves. 'When soloing, he strives to make complete sentences,' says Greg Lizee, an engineer who has worked with Reczek. He sums up his playing by saying "He can shred but doesn't like to very often. He has a particular style that evolves within the music. It very interesting. It's the 'feel' of his playing that makes it distinctive.' Reczek plays all styles including rock, metal, funk, blues, jazz, and everything in between. 'I feel like it is my turn to give back. When I started playing guitar at ten, I went straight into lessons where the instructor taught me theory. I was bored. I had no passion for my instrument. When I started learning songs, my life changed forever!" "That is why I believe so strongly in theSchool of Rockmethod of learning."AtSchool of Rock The Woodlands, we offer performance-based lessons that use learning songs as a catalyst for music education. "We move into theory after he/she has seen and felt how powerful playing music is. This is how I learned. This is how music became a major center in my life and brought me from a small town in Vermont (about 20,000 people) to one of the best players in the fourth-largest city in the United States (metro area over 4 million).'Marc Reczekis theGeneral Manager / Music Director for School of Rock The Woodlandsin Texas. This Houston Area Location is offering performance-based music lessons. My mission - to inspire the WORLD to rock on stage and in life. 'I learned the School of Rock way. You should too.' -

Born in Scotland, moving to Azerbaijan at age 9, and then to America when he was 14, Connor started playing guitar as a convenience to his mother. Since the family would get a discount if both of the Farmer boys enrolled in guitar lessons, Connor went along to give it a try. After a year of classical guitar training, Connor was hooked and went on to learn other styles as well. Although no one else in his family carried on with musical education, he had found his passion. In high school, Connor played in several different bands, playing for school theater productions, local events and Battle of the Bands competitions. A former School of Rock student and now instructor, Connor loves the social interaction and opportunities he has to play music for an audience. He hopes to be a positive example to his students and allow them to grow, both musically and personally, just as he has within the program. 90s Grunge music is what influences Connor. Testimonials

  • “School of Rock has not only taught my daughter how to play music, but has also helped her build confidence and love herself. The staff, students and environment at SoR can be felt every time you walk in, you can tell everyone loves what they are doing. The staff members are mentors that the students look up to. They have taught my daughter so much about music, how to play instruments and the courage to get on stage in front of an audience and sing. My daughter suffered from Major Depressive Disorder and was hospitalized two months prior to starting SoR, I have never felt so helpless as a parent seeing my child feel so depressed, withdrawn and isolated - not wanting to ever come out of her room. Now, she has turned into this PROUD, Fun Loving, HAPPY, Out Spoken Individual. Because of School of Rock, our daughter is always smiling, laughing and enjoying life. SoR will always be highly recommended to anyone I know who has children because I have seen how it has changed our lives!!! ”
