At School of Rock Temecula, we believe that playing real music is the only path to proficiency and a true appreciation for music.

In Rock 101, students select one instrument to study, and we begin teaching fundamentals: scales, chords, notes, time signatures, and all the rest. Our unique approach to music instruction teaches our students vital fundamentals through songs they know and love, not rote memorization. With real musical context in a fun environment, we give all of our students the knowledge they need to really pursue their passion for music.

    • Fun, instruction, and a great progression of practical skills wrapped all into one!

  • School of Rock Temecula’s Rookies Program is designed for first and second graders to provide a fun introduction to music fundamentals. Among other tools, we use proprietary setups for guitar, bass, drums and keyboard to provide a gateway to understanding music. The skills and passion for music that we teach our students gets them ready for Rock 101 and a lasting appreciation for music.

Our Temecula Rookies learn the fundamental concepts of pitch, rhythm, form and dynamics with age-appropriate exercises, tools and games. We encourage our students to explore a variety of instruments and play styles so they can get familiar with all parts of the musical landscape; even the most incredible solo guitar players or drummers need to understand how the rest of the band works together.

      WHAT IS THIS MADNESS??
"Bring Your Parents to Rock" week is AWESOME! As a parent of a School of Rock student, you can choose from a few different options:
*Rock out with your student during their lesson!
      *Take the lesson for yourself!
*Observe and/or chat with your student's instructor during the regular lesson time!

Basically, it's our awesome version of parent/teacher conferences!

Please note, this is not for rehearsals, only for private lessons July 10th - 16th.

One or two parent/guardians are encouraged to attend your regular lesson time for the week. This is not required, just a great opportunity for you to get to know us a little better, ask questions, set goals, and have us understand each others' expectations for your kids
You MUST RSVP for this special lesson time AND you must wait in the front for the instructor to escort you to the lesson room (this isn't a free for all!)Read less

Mark Bender is a professional drummer/percussionist and
vocalist with over twenty five years experience. Although
he is a well rounded player who has studied multiple
styles, Mark is considered a “rock” drummer first and
foremost and prefers playing within the genres of metal,
punk, or classic rock along with anything else that catches
his ear with other varied influences. Bender’s most notable
bands include Full Contact, Battalion Of Saints, Roswell
Project, Star Strangled Bastards, and CAIN (Cursing All Into
      Nothingness).

Upon touring and recording with legendary punk rock icons Batallion Of Saints at the age of eighteen, Mark was dubbed with the nickname “The Kid” due to his young age and has been written up in such periodicals as OC Weekly and the San Diego Reader, citing him as one of Southern California’s most talented up and coming drummers. Soon thereafter he attended the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, studying percussion and music theory in all styles of music.

Shred Sean Is a guitarist hailing from Long Island, NY. He began guitar at the age of 13 and took private lessons as well. He also self-taught for a number of years. At 18, he attended Five Towns College for Jazz Commercial Performance. Shortly after college, Sean began teaching guitar lessons privately around Long Island.

In 2005, at age 21, Sean joined Blessed By A Broken Heart and began touring around the United States and Canada. In 2006, he embarked upon his first European tour with Enter Shikari. Shortly after the European tour, Blessed inked a worldwide deal with Century Media records and recorded their first record, “Pedal To The Metal” in Brittish Columbia with notable producer Garth Richardson. Sean spent the next few years with Blessed touring the globe extensively with notable acts such as: A Day To Remember, The Devil Wears Prada, and Bring Me The Horizon. In 2009, Blessed toured Japan twice, most notably attending the Loud Park Festival in Tokyo sharing the stage with acts such as: Judas Priest, Megadeth, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Dokken, Loudness, and Steel Panther.

After years of touring with Blessed and acting as fill-in guitarist for labelmates Into Eternity on a 33 date North American tour, Blessed parted ways with Century Media and struck a deal With Tooth & Nail records. In April of 2011, they entered the studio with notable producer James Paul Wisner to record their second album “Feel The Power”. Shortly after the album was released, frontman Tony Gambino parted ways and the band called it quits shortly after.

Since Blessed, Sean has began working with up-and-coming producer Chris McDonald (JamTown Music) whose clients include: Vicci Martinez, Cody Simpson, Savvy, and The Candles. He's also done engineering for Timbaland, Ashanti, Spyro Gyra, Dream Theater, and Jimmy Webb. Some of Sean’s pop session work for JamTown can be seen in his reel. Aside from taking his playing in a more commercial route, Sean is still actively teaming up with rock bands and musicians on projects such as Shred Starz.

Sean has recently made the move to LA to be closer to the action in the music industry. He is currently gigging locally in Temecula and Murrieta with various acts as well as LA. Sean is now a proud member of the School Of Rock team and looks forward to helping young musicians achieve there goals and build confidence as a performer and individual.

Tanner grew up in Southern California, in the city of Corona. His musical journey started with a Bass guitar at age 9. He soon moved on to other instruments like Guitar and piano. Learning to read music and perform on stage, throughout high school, he played in many local bands, small venues, and clubs all around Southern California. Being a musician was hard and he needed equipment and materials. So he started giving in-home guitar lessons to pay for his gear. After high school he enrolled at the Riverside Community College, where he still currently attends seeking transfer. He almost exclusively takes courses in music playing piano and guitar in pop, rock, classical and jazz ensembles. Around the time he started school, Tanner started work as an employee for a local music store in his hometown. The store management soon noticed that his experience and skills were better suited for teaching instruments, rather than selling them. So he later started teaching guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, & piano. His teaching specialties include; Rock, Blues, Folk, Bluegrass, Country, Jazz, and Pop.

Natasha is amazing at being the glue that holds everything together, always patient and available. Our son loves this place."”
    — Betty Jo, Mother of School of Rock Temecula student, CA
  • “"I've already recommended the program to my sons friend and he actually came to a rehearsal to see what it's all about. First of all, we love the extent of professionalism received by the manager/owner, Peter. Peter has gone above & beyond with us, answered all of our questions, and made my children feel very comfortable. In addition, the experience of the guitar instructor, Sean is amazing! He's connected very well with my son, who has improved significantly within the short amount of time we've been part of Temecula's School of Rock! My son has had such a good experience that we signed up my daughter who started singing with Jasmine today!!!" ”
    — Mary C, Mother of School of Rock students, Temecula, CA
  • “"I personally like the people and atmosphere. When me and my son are there it feels like I'm surrounded by family."”
    — Adam L, School of Rock Temecula parent, Riverside, CA
  • “"What a change... My Daughter has been in the girl scouts, played organized sports..both at school and at a high club level, taken music lessons with 3-4 different instructors and spent thousands of hours doing volunteer work. She was still like most 13 yr olds...lacking self confidence, and was detached. Practicing guitar was a grind and I get it...spending an hour or two a day playing guitar just to learn to play is not much fun. About a month ago we found a new way... The School of Rock in Temecula...is completely different. They take lessons, they have band practice, and every few months they put on a rock concert. Yesterday was my daughter's first concert. It's completely changed things! Not only has she become much more motivated in her music, but also in school. Her self confidence has sky rocketed and she is more connected with the family at home. As a parent, I highly recommend trying out the Temecula School of Rock. It has done wonders for my child not just her music but also as a person."”
    — Tim L, Father of School of Rock Temecula student, CA
