Programs

  • School of Rock Omaha's Performance Program is all about translating our students' abilities to play in the lesson room to performing for real on stage. In addition to refining their overall skill and proficiency as musicians, students learn what comes with being part of a band: teamwork, collaboration, and the special brand of fun that only comes from sharing awesome experiences with others.

Students learn, absorb, and perform iconic hits from some of history's greatest rock and roll performers including The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Van Halen, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and many more. No matter what they perform, our students will learn incredible skills and enjoy epic experiences that will last a lifetime.

All students in Omaha's Performance Program can expect:

    • Weekly private music lessons on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and/or vocals
    • Weekly band rehearsal to get students prepared for real shows
    • Real-life performances on stage at amazing venues
    • Advanced instruction in fundamentals such as stage performance, harmonies, musicianship, and more
    • Fun, music, and education wrapped into one all-inclusive experience!

  • School of Rock Omaha’s Rock 101 Program encourages fun and success for our younger students as they begin their journey. The days of traditional instruction with piles of sheet music are over. At School of Rock Omaha, we believe that playing real music is the only path to proficiency and a true appreciation for music.

In Rock 101, students select one instrument to study, and we begin teaching fundamentals: scales, chords, notes, time signatures, and all the rest. Our unique approach to music instruction teaches our students vital fundamentals through songs they know and love, not rote memorization. With real musical context in a fun environment, we give all of our students the knowledge they need to really pursue their passion for music.

All students in Omaha’s Rock 101 Program can expect:

    • Weekly private music lessons on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and/or vocals
    • Weekly group rehearsals to reinforce the fundamentals in a team environment
    • A firm grasp of the basics of music theory and technique
    • An understanding of what it means to play solo and in a group
    • Real knowledge gained through real fun!

  • Our top performers can audition for School of Rock Omaha’s most prestigious honor: a spot in our AllStars program! School of Rock’s AllStars represent the best of the best from School of Rock’s global network of schools and students. Equipped with incredible musical abilities, killer work ethics and leadership skills, our AllStars have the talent and drive to grow into the next generation of musical greats.

Every summer, our AllStars embark on an authentic concert tour for a one-of-a-kind experience. Our Omaha musicians perform with All Star bands in multiple live shows at high-profile venues across the country, including Red Rocks, Lollapalooza, Hangout Music Fest, NAMM, Gathering of the Vibes, and countless others. AllStars also get to share the stage and learn from music legends like Alice Cooper, Eddie Vedder, and Slash, to name a few. The AllStars experience gives aspiring musicians the best glimpse of what a professional music career is like.

AllStars selected from School of Rock Omaha can expect:

    • Real-world performances where they can master their skills on guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and/or vocals
    • An authentic tour experience with multiple live shows in various cities
    • Taking the stage with the best of the best from School of Rock’s global community
    • A chance to perform at legendary events and venues, side-by-side with top artists
    • A truly epic rock experience like no other!

  • School of Rock Omaha is now enrolling for our Adult Performance Program, where adult students of all proficiency levels can explore and conquer the world of music. We get our students playing and learning at lightning-quick speeds through practical performance rather than run-of-the-mill music instruction programs. At School of Rock Omaha, the thrill of the performance is just as important as learning the skill to rock.

Our adult students learn the fundamentals of music, including scales, chords, notes, progressions, and more, through some of the most iconic songs and sounds in music history. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of rock ‘n roll or a metal-loving head-banger at home in the mosh pit, our teachers know how to best connect your love for music with a passion for learning it.

All students in School of Rock Omaha’s Adult Program can expect:

    • Fast-paced instruction in one of our great musical offerings: guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and/or vocals
    • Weekly private instruction catered to your goals and level of proficiency
    • Rehearsals with others just like you to get ready for real shows at live music venues

Growing up in a family of musicians and constantly being surrounded by music, Jessica was lucky to have the opportunity to play piano and perform at a very young age.At age three, Jessica was singing music by the Bangles, Fleetwood Mac and Pat Benatar for her parent's amusement. When her father's band practiced at their house she would stand on the coffee table and sing her guts out with the them before going to bed.At age five she started piano lessons and hated every minute of it. It was not until around age eight when she really started to enjoy it and began singing and playing her own songs. Between age 8 13 Jessica picked up other instruments along the way learning guitar, bass, drums, flute and clarinet. In the summer of 1995 Jessica began teaching piano lessons at her family's music store located in Omaha, NE. She joined her first band in 1996 and began traveling the Midwest. In 1998 she was ready to start her first all girl punk band. This style continued as she sang for 'Rock Candy', 'Me Jane', and finally 'Suzy Homewrecker'.These opportunities allowed her to experience making videos, recording two full length albums and many singles with underground labels.Since the end of 'Suzy Homewrecker' Jessica has enjoyed singing and playing her own music, attending and creating jam sessions with some of the legendary names in Omaha and teaching her own 200+ students over the past 2 decades.

Dave "I'm Huge in Japan!" CampagnaVeteran percussionist Dave Campagna has been around the Chicago and Nebraska music scene for more than 20 years. Born just west of the Windy City in the suburb of Oak Park, IL, Dave began listening to the early local Chicago bands like Styx, Reo Speedwagon and Chicago. At a very young age he studied under legendary percussionist Duane Thamm who recorded and toured with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and the Henry Mancini Orchestra among others. Upon moving back and forth from Chicago to Nebraska he played in two Drum and Bugle Corps and countless start-up bands. While playing with one garage band after another, a chance encounter with Nebraskan Max Gronenthal (AKA Max Carl, lead singer for 38 Special and Jack Mack and Heart Attack) led Dave to take his chops to the next level and start playing in clubs and colleges around the Omaha and Lincoln area while completing a Bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from Creighton University.Although trained to play traditional jazz-influenced music his catalog of music includes, pop, dance, disco, rock and contemporary Christian music. The Chicagoan's preference is rock with a Jazz flair but he has done his share of Jimmy Buffett inspired gigs as well.Currently Dave can be seen performing and recording original tunes with Digital Paradise and can be heard on the hugely popular CD 'Chasing Turtles', when not subbing for countless bands in Omaha from Average Joe to Smoking Section to the Godz.Ever the business entrepreneur (Dave opened two Funny Bone Comedy Clubs and two Varsity Sports Cafes among countless other fun adventures), a chance encounter with the School of Rock in Miami and Kansas City led Dave to franchise the School of Rock in Omaha at the original Millard High School building at 13270 Millard Avenue.

Derek studied music at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has played in a number of Omaha area bands since the age 16. Students can expect to review basic musical concepts and sight reading through their lessons along with attention paid to proper technique and rudiments. Ultimately, students will learn to dissect and understand the music they play and love. All they are asked to bring with them is an enthusiasm to learn drums - and sometimes a notebook.

Maddie has been surrounded by music since day one. With parents, who have been singing and preforming all over the country since the 70's Maddie was bound to end up a performer. While in high school, Maddie sang in show choir for all four years, was in countless plays and musicals, and was also a member of the Nebraska All-State Chorus for her junior and senior year while attending Ralston High School, in Omaha, Ne. After she graduated she sang with the Master Singers Chorus for a few months until she was cast in the Omaha Press Club Show. Warren Buffett made an appearance, and sang a song with the cast as well. Currently, she will perform with Pam and the Pearls. Maddie can play piano, guitar and even enjoys the Ukulele from time to time. Maddie is grateful for the opportunity to teach what she has learned, and what it takes to be a successful performer. She believes School of Rock is a great way to open the doors to the music industry.

  • “It is hard to articulate the pride you feel as a parent when you see your kid perform on-stage. As a music teacher for fifteen years, it is easy to say that choosing the Downingtown School of Rock for our fifteen year-old son, was indeed, the best parenting decision we have made yet. ”
    — Susan B., parent, Unionville, PA
  • “When we decided to send our daughter to SOR, we never imagined what a positive impact that one decision would have on her life. She transformed from a shy, quiet kid to a confident, incredible musician, with an active social life and many close friends she considers her second family. The amazing memories she’ll always have of touring and performing with the All-Stars at world-renowned venues and festivals are just icing on the cake. ”
