With over two decades in the music industry, Frank Axtell is a renowned guitarist, composer and teacher and is a major contributor to the south Florida jazz-rock fusion scene. He performs with his own jazz ensemble, The Frank Axtell Quartet. He toured extensively in the mid 80s along the Atlantic coast and Europe & has recorded on the West Coast at San Franciscos The Record Plant. Thankfully he has decided to make south Florida his home.

For years I performed as a sideman in other bands. It was time to form my own group.
Frank attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has always taken his continuing course of musical evolution seriously, learning from prominent guitarists Vincent Bredice, Joe Diorio, Scott Henderson, and Jack Wilkins. In 1990-91 Frank served on the faculty at Miami Dade Community College. He has performed guitar clinics and teaches guitar and electric bass at Digital Soundscapes Studios, West Palm Beach. Currently, with over 40 private students, Frank owns and operates his own multimedia recording studio, Digital Soundscapes where he produces many local artists in addition to composing and engineering his own projects.

Rick Rothschild has lived in Juno Isles for about 25 years with his wife, Heidi, and their two children; Ben (15) and Sydney (11). Always a big fan of rock music, Rick put an electric guitar in his son's hands at a young age and began teaching several of Ben's friends to perform a Beatles song in the school talent show. In doing so, he realized putting the band together was incredibly rewarding and began to see other kids could benefit from performing music. After watching a CNBC show featuring the School of Rock doing this on a much bigger scale, he was hooked and persued his own school. With his prior experience in the Big Brother program and understanding the value of working with kids, he realized School of Rock was the perfect fit. Rick and his business partner, Chris Paige, opened their first school six years ago, and Rick still says, "It's the coolest thing ever!" He can often be seen hanging around rock school, requesting songs, and high fiving the kids. Rick's two children are students at the school and fondly refer to it as their second home. Rick is also a part of our Adult Program as a keyboardist and vocalist. "Why should the kids have all the fun?"

''¦The pursuit of tone is my second biggest obsession. The right mix of the perfect tone and a good crowd is very tough to beat!' What makes a musician so versatile?Experience. That's exactly what you get with South Florida's Scott Gailor who brings his discipline of technical prowess and modern emotion to a new tier. Hailing from Saratoga Springs, Scott began making a name for himself through the New York City club circuit before toughing it out touring along the east coast racking up more than 2600 shows. It wasn't long before Scott was recognized nationally as an on the rise talent by coming in 4th out of 750 players in the Guitar Wars Semi-Finals, and regional runner-up in Guitar Center's Guitarmageddon competition. "The first time I heard/saw Scott Gailor play I was 16 years old and I thought he was an alien from outer space! Simply Amazing!' '“JP Soars (JP Soars and the Red Hots, Southern Hospitality, Divine Empire) Whether it has been with Scrooge, Union Jack, Kidd Havok (SunCity Records) or Lauren Krothe, Scott has proven that no matter who he is with, he stands toe to toe with greatness as he has opened for everyone from Yngwie Malmsteen to Dokken, Extreme, and Sebastian Bach. Usually a fickle bunch, the press has even singled Scott out for his 'breakneck speed,' (Metal Edge Magazine) and comparisons to Eddie Van Halen (Hard Rock Haven). From the National, right to the local level, he continues to inspire fans of all ages. " the never-ending pursuit of tone!' Currently you can catch Scott adding atmosphere and slinging licks as part of Lauren Krothe's live band while he puts the finishing touches on his highly anticipated first instrumental release that's sure to be stuck on repeat for days.

In July of 2008, Mary became one of North Palm Beach School of Rock's first Rocker Moms. From the beginning, she 'got' the program and juggled her corporate career while never missing a gig or show and truly witnessed the changes it made with her newfound family. As she sat in the audience, she saw the promise of the immense possibilities to foster changes in so many future student's lives and thus led her to approach Rick as he opened the South Palm Beach School of Rock. Mary brought her 25 years of management, customer service and problem solving skills to the school in March of 2012 and soon after became the General Manager of both schools. Through the process of growing the schools, Mary has been able to mesh her love of family and community while igniting her secret musical passion which had long been buried after her days of Choir in Junior High and High School. Wil Lanagan is a drum instructor for School of Rock. With a passion for rhythm and a habit of thinking abstractly, Wil intends to teach his students that it is by no means how long you've been playing but the effort you've put in during that time. At the ripe age of 18, Wil underwent a right knee reconstruction; A disaster for that of any young drummer. While learning how to walk again, re-learning how to play a drum set would often be the last goal on many young adults minds. However, Wil was determined to let nothing stand in his way of his ideal outlet of expression. This event, brought him inspiration. Inspiration he would love nothing more than to instill in his students. Just because you may live in an apartment or can't afford a whole drum set, underwent a temporarily debilitating surgery or lost your connection to music for a few years by no means translates to not being able to be a drummer, for the first time or once again! With proper technique, an inquisitive taste for musical theory and a cognitive mind, Wil strives to pass along proficient practice techniques, application of, "boring" rudiments to the kit and all with a very humorous and nurturing attitude. Wil is always making attempts to learn more and will teach in whatever manner it takes to pass on this quality to his students. Music is fun. Music is expressive. Music can be just as much a part of everyday life as breathing if you allow it to be. Wil is currently the drummer for signed, technical-metal band, Pathways.
While Wil may choose to express his acquired skills in a live setting via the rock outlet, in no way is his love for R&B, funk and gospel drumming hindered. With a little something from each genre in your back pocket, you can really learn how to establish a pocket of your own and fall deep in the groove.

Tom began studying music at the age of 6, and has been playing the piano ever since. He studied for 11 years with classical concert pianist Harold Brown, a student of such famous classical music figures as Vlado Perlemuter and Alicia de Larrocha.

Tom was a student in the piano department at Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach from 2002-2006. He went on to receive a full scholarship for piano performance at the conservatory at Lynn University in Boca Raton. After one year of rigorous classical study there, he became interested in jazz, transferring to FAU as a Jazz Studies major. He earned his bachelor of music in Jazz Studies in 2011, gaining much experience performing for various school events such as the inauguration of FAU president Mary Jane Saunders.

In middle school, Tom picked up the guitar and bass guitar. As a bass player, he played in a number of groups beginning in high school: The Kim Basinger Band (ska/punk), Molten Guava (punk/folk), and Totem Pole (rock).

A lifelong interest in writing music led Tom to return to FAU in 2013 to pursue a Master of Music degree in composition, which he completed in 2015 upon finishing his three-movement piece Concerto for Piano, Winds and Percussion. His passion is teaching people how different styles of music relate to each other, and puts emphasis on learning more than one musical skill (reading, improvisation, composition/theory, playing by ear, etc.) He is known for his ability to sight-read difficult music at the piano as well as to improvise jazz solos, and believes that an understanding of multiple musical languages makes for a better musician.

Tom currently performs original music and covers with his funk/jazz quartet Tchaa, is in a jazz trio at Camelot Night Club in West Palm Beach on Tuesday nights, is the music director at First Presbyterian Church of West Palm Beach, and teaches classical piano students in addition to his students at the School of Rock.
