  • School of Rock Littleton’s Rookies Program offers a gateway to understanding music for first and second graders. Using proprietary set-ups for guitar, bass, drums and keyboard, as well as other tools, we introduce our Rookies to music fundamentals in a fun way. The skills and passion for music that our Rookies learn prepares them for Rock 101 and a lifelong love of music.

With exercises, tools and games customized to their age group, our (geomodifer) Rookies learn the concepts of music theory, rhythm, pitch, form and dynamics as they play alongside their friends. We encourage our students to explore various instruments and play styles so they begin to understand how individual contributions form a band; even the best solo keyboard players or vocalists need to understand how an ensemble works.

    • Weekly group lessons using guitar, bass, keyboard and drums

Rick Thompson began his musical career at the ripe old age of 4 when he learned "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" while sitting on his father's lap at the piano. Growing up, Rick experimented with piano, guitar, and trombone. One fateful day Rick was struck dumb bythe amazing bass guitar in The Lemon Song by Led Zeppelin. So he picked up the old P-Bass his dad had in the basement and began to learn how to play it. That's been his instrument of choice ever since. Rick toured the country with a singer/songwriter for 7 years, he's taught private bass lessons since 2003, he's a freelance audio engineer, and is the frontman for a Primus tribute band called Mr. Knowitall. Rick can also be seen on various rivers and streams in the Colorado mountains fly fishing for trout.

Seger Marion is a full band rolled into one package. Since the age of 14, he's been an active drummer and, learning many styles and techniques to enhance his playing. Having played with numerous singer-songwriters, original bands, and in various school ensembles, he has a diverse background in the styles he brings to the kit. Since the age of 16 he began playing guitar and developing his ability to sing. Those were the rough years. You do NOT want to hear that early stuff. But after 2 years in choir and help from a wide base of musically talented friends, his playing and singing have come a long way. As a songwriter, he's recently come into his own. Starting in 2010, he found his calling as a blues rock songwriter and it's led to many soulful tunes that explore groovy riffs with mature lyrics and witty wordplay. He currently acts as the core songwriter and drummer for the blues-rock outfit, Montana Tapwater. He also performs with Taylor Sumner and the UC Denver Claim Jumpers, a well-known Dixieland jazz band led by Queen City Jazz Band's Eric Staffeldt.
