Will McLean began playing music at a young age, starting with the upright bass. Although side interests have included cello, guitar and drums, bass has always been the strongest passion in music for Will. Shortly after graduating high school, Will played with a few local acts before deciding to move to Hollywood to further his musical education at Musician's Institute. After graduating from the Associates Program of Performance: Bass and the Guitar Craft programs he was hired as a teaching assistant at the school, assisting in group performance classes to help students apply all they were being taught into actual playing situations. While in Hollywood he performed with several local groups, the two largest being Fractalline, a famous Indian death metal band, and Blending Ashes, a reggae/rock/hip-hop band. Both bands played extensively in Los Angeles and nearby cities. Will has played bass for over a decade and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. • “When we decided to send our daughter to SOR, we never imagined what a positive impact that one decision would have on her life. She transformed from a shy, quiet kid to a confident, incredible musician, with an active social life and many close friends she considers her second family. The amazing memories she’ll always have of touring and performing with the All-Stars at world-renowned venues and festivals are just icing on the cake. ”
